Custom Order Policies

CottonByJulia offers custom orders for any polymer clay product (earrings, bookmarks, etc.)! 

Simply reach out to me via DM (IG: @cottonbyjulia, FB: CottonByJulia) to place a custom order :) Once that is completed I will go over the following points with you:

  1. Your budget-- so I know to work within your price range. Please be aware that if what you are requesting is not within your budget, I will do my best to help you and present alternative designs. I completely understand that not everybody works with clay and they may not be aware of the price a certain item would cost-- I kindly request that you have an open mind when you request a custom just in case there needs to be a design adjustment :)
  2. Your timeline-- when do you need this order by?
  3. The deposit(s) for all earring(s) in the order
  4. The price of a new clay cutter-- if a new clay cutter needs to be ordered for the custom, the cost of its price/ shipping will be added to the order. You will not receive the clay cutter with your order. Sadly, I have had people request certain cutters for past customs and not follow through after I had ordered/ paid for them and I have added this policy and deposits because of that. 
  5. Earring hardware you would like-- I currently offer: clip-ons (w/ cushion pads), hooks, normal stud posts (will be attached with UV resin), ball posts, and huggies. I may also have other hardware from my seasonal inventory and I can send pictures of them upon request. All hooks, normal stud posts, ball posts, and applicable seasonal hardware come with rubber earring backs.

Custom policies:

  1. I will work within your budget on a design that is approved by both parties (you and I).
  2. The timeline of a custom order can depend on a few things: whether a new cutter needs to be ordered, my current supply inventory, order quantity, etc. However, I will be transparent/ upfront on an estimated timeline and I will work with you if there are any hiccups along the way with supplies/ cutters coming in.
  3. I will require a $5 deposit on all stud custom pieces and a $10 deposit on all dangle/ stud-dangle custom pieces. These deposits are non-refundable and will need to be collected after a design and a new cutter (if needed) is agreed upon.
  4. If your custom order requires the use of a new clay cutter, then the price of that clay cutter and its shipping will be added to the order total (please note that you will not receive the clay cutter with your order). This is usually around $10-15, depending on the clay cutter and seller. I will move forward with ordering a clay cutter (if needed) once I have your approval.
  5. Once your custom order is completed, I will notify you and send pictures of the finished products. Once the final designs are approved by you, you will have 7 days (one week) to submit the remaining payment for your order. If payment is not submitted within that time frame, the order will be cancelled and the deposits will not be refunded. However, I do understand that financial, personal, and medical emergencies can happen in the blink of an eye. If you find yourself in that type of situation when payment is due, please reach out to me and we can work on a timeline for your order payment.
  6. Please note, that if I do not receive a response to an inquiry I have about your order and/ or whether you approve the work within 7 days of me reaching out, the order will be cancelled and the deposits will not be refunded. This is to protect myself and my time from any ghosting :(
  7. Aaaand time for the fine print. For any custom designs/ pieces made, I hold the right to replicate that design to be sold in my shop and by me (online, at in-person events, etc.) and as a requested custom in the future for any customer. I also hold the right to post pictures of custom pieces that I make, but if you need to me to hold off on posting them (in case you are trying to surprise someone with a custom gift), please let me know :)
